W H Matthews Supporting Education in the Community

On 22nd November the City of London Freemen’s School in Ashtead held their annual Careers, Education and Gap Convention. This is a popular event with local students from the surrounding areas seeking guidance on their future education and chosen career paths. The event was attended by a number of business, advising students on different career choices.

W H Matthews was represented by our Training Partner Alex Tribick and Trainee Solicitor Kathryn Thorpe, both former students at CLFS. They provided students ranging from years 8 to 13 with advice on what it is like to be a solicitor and the educational requirements needed to succeed. Students were provided with information on the firm and the different pathways available to qualify. Alex and Kathryn also advised on how important it is for future lawyers to make themselves stand out from the crowd by taking part in volunteering, clubs and gaining work experience.

The event was a great success and we would like to thank CLFS and all the students and parents we spoke to.
