Movember 2016

Not satisfied with just raising money for Breast Cancer Care, our resident marathon runner, fund raiser and all round great solicitor (Ed – he wrote this himself), Steve Bannell is this month cultivating his upper lip hair in aid of men’s health by taking part in Movember.

The concept of Movember began in the Southern hemisphere but has seen a rapid rise in participants within the UK over the past 10 years. The idea is simple: for one month you may not shave the hair on your upper lip. The participants (known as “Mo Bros”) down their razors for the month of November and seek to grow the most stylish Mo possible in aid of raising funds and awareness of male health issues such as testicular cancer, prostate cancer and men’s mental health issues.

Unfortunately, studies have shown that due to numerous factors, men are less likely to check themselves for lumps or to discuss the state of their mental health with friends or family. Movember is intended as a light hearted way to raise awareness of such issues and help support men who find themselves with these health problems.

Please feel free to comment on his facial fur should you meet him over the next 10 days and you can follow the progress of the mo via the following link, where you can also donate towards the very worthy cause : https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Steve-Bannell2
