Heather works with Nigel Quinney in the Litigation Department, helping clients to resolve disputes.
Formerly a building society branch manager, she re-trained as a solicitor in her 30s, at both our Kingston and Sutton branches, qualifying in 2008. After a few years’ career break to raise her family, Heather returned to Sutton in 2017. She covers all aspects of civil litigation, especially construction, Landlord and Tenant (both short and long leases), and neighbour disputes (eg boundaries).
“My job is to listen to the problem a client presents me with, discuss and consider their options, and then move forwards in the most cost-effective way. My preferred first step is to attempt to obtain a favourable resolution for my client by negotiation. However with some opponents this is just not possible, so I believe in taking swift, robust action if the initial attempt to “hold out an olive branch” has not yielded results.”
In her spare time Heather enjoys reading, Saturday morning Parkruns, family walks with the dogs (a Dalmatian and a Saluki-cross-Lurcher rescue), cycling, camping and eating (but not cooking!).
