From 1st August 2007, before a residential property can be put on the market for sale, a Home Information Pack (“HIP”) may be required.

The contents of a HIP have been determined by Statute and are set out in Regulations. A HIP must contain an Index, a Sale Statement, a Copy of the Title and associated documents. In addition, the HIP must contain an Energy Performance Certificate (“EPC”), giving a Property an energy rating of A to G.
